Day 15: April PAD 2013 – A Lovely Infestation

A Lovely Infestation

I said you bugged me, then I left,
running through the door.
Exterminate you from my life;
Wanting you no more.

But did I really think it
so easy to be rid?
For you still scurry through my mind;
Who was I to kid?

With constant nibbles at my heart,
and tugging to and fro;
And now I see you everywhere.
So how was I to know?

Yes, I said you did infest
And said you were a pain.
But I’m so sorry, now I know
Without you I’m insane!

I had a little fun with today’s prompt. Robert Brewer came up with the idea of an “infested” poem. So I played with the idea and married love and infestation together. Kind of crazy, huh?
