Day 17: NaPoWriMo 2013 – A Reluctant Greeting

A Reluctant Greeting

A gift bearing wisdom,
A sign of the age,
For one that’s distinguished,
Considered a sage.

Not for the young,
For the strong and the clever,
It’s a warning for all,
You don’t live forever.

You’ll yell at the mirror,
“No, it’s not fair!”
Instead try it calmly,
“Hello there, gray hair.”

rainI did a “goodbye” poem earlier in the month. Now it’s time for a “hello” poem.
