Day 22: NaPoWriMo 2013 – Earth Day Haiku

Brook Green Gardens

A New Day

A warm glow rises,
Chasing the darkness away.
Birdsong greets morning.

A Tree is Born

In natural armor,
Teased to leave that protection,
A seed springs forth life.

Moonlit Walk

A blue world rises.
Trees beckoning from shadows,
Dispelled by moonlight.

Stroll by the Brook

A musical spell
Cast upon the traveler,
Who strolls by the brook.

Desert Oasis

Cruel, alien world;
Scorching, dry: a trying life.
Desert cactus blooms

rainSince haiku is a form that’s intended to focus on something natural, I thought it a fitting form for today’s NaPoWriMo challenge – Earth Day poetry!

How do you think they came out, and do you have a favorite?  Let me know in the comments.
