A Week Away

Away from it all,
Forging ahead,
Forested path,
Gorgeous rewards by the side;
Hiking solitude.


Taking a week to hike the mid-state trail in PA was one of my favorite trips in the woods. I love the beauty of the woods, the sounds of the streams, the animals I see along the way, and the beautiful terrain of Pennsylvania.

This tanka was written for the “Poetry Heals” Verse First writing prompt at the Poetry Blogroll.
