The Hermit’s Path

Solitude chosen,
Rejected companionship,
The mark of the hermit.

Warm Rejections

Unfortunate ones
Will find warmth under the sun
But seldom, in hearts.

Finding the Light

The Light of the World,
Brilliant beyond all others,
If you choose to see.

Today’s prompt from Carpe Diem is about the Hermit Tarot. I’m not really into the occult, but found the details of this prompt to be intriguing. I ultimately decided to write my Senryu based on the aspects of “The Hermit” that characterize loneliness, rejection, and (in one interesting interpretation) Christ as the Light of the World.

“if you choose to see”. Inner wisdom which I see as parallel to The Hermit is difficult to comprehend and embrace. But if one chooses to see, it is there to be found. I helped many connect with their inner wisdom as therapist. Always such a profound moment when it happened. I loved it was something they would forever have as a life resource long after leaving my office.

Strange, isn’t it, how some (many) people fail to see even the most blinding light?
