Recently, I enjoyed a weekend away from it all, where cellphones didn’t even work. It was so relaxing and energizing. Sometimes, I forget how important it is to unwind by unplugging.
No wind beneath these wings.
Poisoned soul – fading.
Life can be found away from it all –
Umbilical cords severed;
Grandiose dreams ahead;
Glowing with new freedom;
Ecstasy realized – with one simple action:
Dare to unplug.
My “unplugged” poem was written in response to the Writer’s Digest weekly prompt. I decided to play with an acrostic poem, spelling out the word with the first letter of each line. Those kinds of poems are always fun – they feel like a brainteaser.
