Painting the Future with Hope

I like happy endings and this haiku trio is no exception. Look for the silver lining!

Allegory of hope; Oil on canvas, Francesco Gua...

Painting the Future with Hope

Silently distraught
Dark blankets of night time clouds
Shadows muting hope

Tears of sunlight shine
Dark retreats from heaven’s glow
Victory awaits

Painting the future
Life’s canvas and man’s brush
Freshly beginning

Written for Carpe Diem prompt #209, this poem is about the “Future”. I believe that we are in large part responsible for our own future and that one of the greatest things we can do for ourselves is to meet it with hope. In dark times, it’s hard, but I’d rather meet struggle with optimism than despair.
