I could do without the humidity, but I love Pennsylvania weather, especially with the change of seasons.
Clouds over mountains.
Warm breeze caressing the skin.
Wrapping blankets of moisture.
Shadows bring solace.
Beckoning twilight –
Western horizon afire,
Mountains catching sun.
This haiku trio was written entirely for fun. It struck me as I was pumping gas, just as the sun was setting. The clouds were rolling past Nittany Mountain as the sun painted in the western horizon. Just as I stepped out of the car, I was greeted by a lovely spring breeze. The first two stanzas wrote themselves as I stood there filling up the tank. If not for the smell of car fumes and gasoline, it was a quite beautiful place to be.
