Release

fallen leaves, standing tree

Bearing the seasons
But anticipates release
A tree welcomes fall

Another Maggie Grace prompt at Carpe Diem! This time, the prompt was “release”, which is the perfect theme for fall.

  2. Nice response on ‘release’ Gene … a haiku written in the way of the classical haiku poets. Thank you for sharing.

Am thinking possible trees bearing fruit feels a burden/weight to the branches and the trees are grateful for their release. Taking that a step further, perhaps trees are nudists at heart and can’t wait to be relieved of their “clothing”. Lovely haiku.

A lovely thought that trees welcome fall-to start afresh:-)Funny,it brought to my mind the evergreen trees-possibly they do not like it -too conservative? 😉
