Sneaky Cat

Of course I wouldn’t like her, she’s a cat.
Despite the fact she owns a lovely woman;
Could not conceive of either in my life.

But things can change so quickly in one’s life.
All that purring and the petting; sneaky cat,
Who stole my heart as did the woman.

Rarely will a feline share her woman,
For both these gems demand devoted life.
Upended future – captured by a cat.

Oh sweet cat and to her woman, thank you for this life.

Day 7 of NapoWrimo taught me about a poem with a unique form.  It’s called a tritina.  The form is wonderful mental exercise, requiring you to end every sentence with one of three words that rotate from stanza to stanza.
