Flowers and Dreams

Blooms defying gray
Striving in adversity
Legions of promise

Legions of promise
Persistent inspiration
Dandelion dreamer

Dandelion dreamer
Reaching toward the heavens
Overcast blanket

Overcast blanket
Holds back dreams of tomorrow
Blooms defying gray

Day 8 of NaPoWriMo is about flowers.  Any form is acceptable but today I chose to venture back to the world of haiku.  It’s been a long time since I visited my friends at Carpe Diem, so I decided to join them in writing a haiga about dreams.  Feeling like a bit of an overachiever this morning, I decided to also write a small haiku chain to complement it.

Edit: Fixed the chain.  Apparently I left out a stanza!
