Focus with your eyes, hear with your ears, listen with your heart
Only the heart can hold the treasure that true friends seek
Remember that those who seek friends must strive to be friendly
Try in all things to strive for your best
Unless you give your best effort your conscience will not find its reward
Never request compliments, but let them be the reward from those around you
Express compliments quickly, but anger and criticism, circumspectly
Control anger by leashing it with wisdom
Observation, wisdom and understanding are not just things, but your allies
Of all things, seek wisdom first
Kings that put themselves first will be last in the hearts of their people
In your travels, people will shine beyond location
Endeavor to step out from the spotlight and others’ eyes will see you shine brightest
Day 13 of NaPoWriMo falls upon an unlucky day. That is, if I believed in luck.
For today’s prompt, we’re asked to make up a poem of real or imagined fortune cookie sayings. I was going to take the easy way out and find an online fortune cookie generator and cut/paste the responses. Instead, I decided to develop my own poem with an acrostic form. To make it a little more fun, each line is linked to the next by a common word.
Enjoy the poetry. I hope you’re able to find a nugget of wisdom you’re able to use.
